Escape from prison

Four inmates, including a murder suspect, escaped a central Georgia jail through a damaged window and fences, with a car possibly aiding their escape. The FBI and local law enforcement are searching for them. The escapees are Joey Fournier (charged with murder), Marc Kerry Anderson, Chavis Demaryo Stokes, and Johnifer Dernard Barnwell. Barnwell was convicted on federal drug charges. The jailbreak occurred in the facility’s oldest part, prompting an internal investigation and staffing changes. A total reward of $73,000 is offered for information leading to their capture.

In 2012, Choi Gap-bok escaped from prison by squeezing his body through the food slot at the bottom of his cell door. The slot measured 5.9 inches tall and 17.7 inches wide. Choi, a yoga practitioner, applied skin ointment to his body and slipped out while 3 prison guards were sleeping. On September 12, 2012, Choi was arrested on suspicion of robbery, according to the Yonhap News Agency. The arresting officers took him to the police station in Daegu, South Korea and put him in a holding cell.
